I was surprised when atwoods had keets over $5 too! But the LF chicks ate higher this yr as well. I think the higher price might be the regular price this yr. Bantams seem to be priced close to the same this yr.

We will being over ran with keets of all colors soon. Yesterday DD collected 7 fresh guinea eggs, previous days she only found 2 or 3. Lots of people in town have been asking about guineas since the ticks are already HORRIBLE this yr. DD is so shy when it comes to speaking to adults she doesn't know, hopefully selling keets will help her get over the fear!

Well this morning only one is still alive, it is metoo. I was feeding them moistened chick start, and water, and water w/ honey (that was just a little honey and just after shipping) The temps were/are 95-98, they weren't huddling or anything like they were cold. Only one is alive this morning, I expected two to die in the night they stopped eating and one would only eat or drink when I forced the issue, one that died this morning was a complete suprise he was eating and drinking on his own and very active. The one left this morning is eating and drinking and active too. Still waiting to hear from the hatchery, called them again this morning.

Okay this morning there are some additional clues.  They have been pooping, mostly green and liquid, but I caught this this morning from the only surviving one.  Any ideas?

Kass - I've never seen a poop like that before.  I have some lovely NN babies if you want some while you wait for the hatchery to work things out.  Are you looking for males?  Or do you prefer females.  Some I can tell, but others are still too young.  Let me know.  You could pick when you come to take photos.  I still don't have a C date set, but it will probably be the last week or the second-to-the-last week in April.

Repairs haven't started on our basement yet.  I'm expecting a call today.  If the house is uninhabitable by the end of April, we can pick an alternative site.  I can travel with tools and cockerels.

Oh crap! Green normally means malnutrition. They could also easily have something like salmonella. Hatcheries have been known to have outbreaks like that. Or his stools might be like that from nothing other than not getting shipped soon enough and then spending 2 days in the mail. It was obviously too late by the time you all picked them up Saturday.

I feel so  bad for you. You, of all people, have waited so long and hard for them and planned so well for them. It's just not fair. His color looks like the color of most EE's when they're little. It's definitely not a BBS color.
