It appears that my brain is short circuiting this morning. I can't seem to get the multi-quote thing to do what I want to do so I'll post a different way.
Oakieridge - I am moving to the lake house at Lake Eufaula. It sits on two lots. There are a lot of trees on part of it and is near the water. It's not a huge amount of property but enough for me, my cats and chickens. Eventually I'd like to get more land somewhere else, but this fine for now.
Oceanseve - Congratulations on your new (or new to you) house and glad you survived the selling/moving process. It's gruelling.
RetiredArmyWife - It's tough getting a house ready to sell, especially when you have a little one to keep up with and other responsibilities. I don't have children at home anymore but just getting and keeping everything done is tough. You're right, it's hard to show a house with all of that going on. Lookers want to see a house in pristine condition, it seems.
One of the things I like most about the house at Lake Eufaula is being able to see lots of stars. There are lots more to see there than in the city and they're beautiful. It's nice to sit out on the porch at night and see them all. I wish you luck meeting your goals so you'll be able to enjoy them too.
Thanks. My grandfather has a place in Eufala, my husband has been there to fish and says it's great.
Looking for a few hens in OKC. Does anyone know where I might be able to find some? This will be our first time raising chickens and I am super excited. The coop is built and ready to go, just need to find some chickens. I have done lots of research but any advice would be great. Thank you :)
Welcome! Newcastle would be a good stop if you aren't picky about what you want. If you get more specific I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction
:( Sorry you don't have more help. I put the cats in carriers every showing and just kept them in the car. Not fun for them, but I'm shocked at how many animal haters there are out there!
What experience I've had with luffa...it is a more tender vine than most gourds. It is more like a cucumber vine. It does need a trellis to help make the luffas straight.
I have just set my seed, planted in pots to set out when it is a little warmer.
A sweet potatoe vine can be trained to go up and over a short trellis...while the root grow in the ground to be dug in the fall. It is very heat tolerant also.
I'm planting sunflower seed along the fence of one of my pens this year to block the west sun and provide seed heads for the birds in the winter.
I picked up sunflower seeds yesterday! I found this neat idea on pinterest, you plant them in a circle then guide them together as they grow to make a sunflower house. I hope it works! I think the girls would love it
I always ask back "I don't know, ARE we there yet?"
