I'm so sorry. I did get my 4 big Cochin girls out of that incubator and they're my most favorite animals. I never measured humidity and only used it twice so I figured humidity was my problem.

Candled one and there was movement! Yeah! They're not dead. Problem is I decided to move them back into formation (w/o changing their orientation so they didn't lose their positioning) I moved one and the stupid bird pipped the wrong end! Not only the wrong end, but it was facing down so I didn't know! Ah! So I probably shrink wrapped him. I had a spray bottle handy and sprayed the spot, he hasn't broken totally through, but pushed the shell off, the membrane looks still intact, so hopefully I didn't kill him. At any rate he's pipping at the small end so he's probably gonna die anyway from what I've read about it. Next time I think I will lock down based on candling not on dates. That's probably why he's pipping the wrong end cause he's been on one side for nearly 5 days. D'oh. Anyone here have them pip the wrong end and be okay?
Mine did! Pipped at the wrong end so I opened up a tiny chip so she could breathe. I didn't help the other 2 soon enough and they died in the shell. But this one I kept peeling away tiny bits of the shell and stopping for 30 min when I saw a blood vessel to let it dry up. I ended up peeling her entire shell away and from there on she's done great, 5 wks old now. I wet a paper towel with hot water and wrapped the egg in it (make sure their beak can get air) and set her back in the incubator between helping her.
If you get a Brinsea use the promo code " ADozenGirlz " and you get 10% off. Don't get cheap like I did and get a smaller one, go for the Eco 20 for $130. I set 11 eggs in mine but only 4 of the Bantam Modern eggs are fertile for sure. I was kinda relieved though since I'm still raising 2 batches of babies. I want Modern Bantam babies really bad so I'll be thrilled if these guys hatch.
Robin, if I wasn't in the same boat as you with too many males I'd snatch up one of those Serama babies. That's why I'm leery of hatching. I'm so scared of getting males that I've passed on lots of breeds I wanted to hatch.
