My  gophur purge has a swuare stem with leave soming out from each side...will try to post a picture of it.  Only know it as gophur purge...definitely not castor.   GP grows about 18 - 30 inches high.

Someone will walk thru the pens with you to let you know what breeds are there and give you a suggested price range....I learned a lot last night for our first auction.

I've grown Castor beans for years but haven't planted in about 5 years, I still have a ton of seeds if anyone needs some, I never heard the term "gopher purge" but have always planted the Castor beans to deter them.

BBAcres you should just jump in with the crowd at the back that's yacking more than bidding and we'll all introduce outselves, some of us just look scary but we're not really :-)

We were going to do a cookout at the big pond today, but it looks like the ground it way too soggy there since the boys capped the overflow pipe with concrete and changed the spillway....even the metal picnic table had water over the legs...Had to move it to higher ground.   Will see if the kids still want to come for the afternoon.

It sounds like I missed a good auction last night. Yesterday afternoon I went to visit with a neighbor who recently fell and wasn't getting around very well. By the time I got home it was already 6:30 - too late to get ready then drive to Newcastle, or so I thought. Sounds like the auction went on well into the wee hours of the morning. I really don't have a need for anymore birds or anything right now anyway, so it's probably a good thing that I didn't go. My chicken willpower is nearly non-existent sometimes and I very well could have come home with some things I don't need

Hope everyone has a nice Easter today. Let's remember the true meaning of this day.

Just googled it (gopher purge) I never knew there was a different plant then caster bean as gopher purge.  Anyway looking at the two plants I'd rather plant the caster bean it is far prettier.

No rain here, just got a short sprinkle yesterday. Fingers crossed we get some rain this wk!

Now I want some caster beans! Anything to help kill gophers!!!  How much do I have to worry about my other animals if they nibble the leaves or parts? Doubt my goats have ever found a plant they don't like.
