I am making my homemade BBQ sauce for POOPS tomorrow. The house smells soooo good!

Having a serious problem with someone stealing my eggs. I have always had a problem with it, but they are really wiping me out to the tune of around 2 dozen a day right now.

When I get a day off of work and my vehicle is parked here, I don't lose any eggs, so I get lots of eggs on the weekends and days that I am off of work. Bad part is, if they are in need of food, I would gladly give them eggs for free if they would ask, but what I think is happening is my neighbor is sending his kids in to steal the eggs then he sells them to buy the ingredients he needs to make meth. I am a police officer so I can't begin to explain to you how frustrating this is. I'm gonna have to set some kind of surveillance up I guess to see what I can find out.

hoop house.jpgSo proud of my boys that helped build on this, this morning.  Also here is a pic of one of the puppies looking for a home.  Some are all black and some are black with white feet.

Bill I was looking the other day @ some minnow traps made out of kitty litter buckets. Wonder how many minnow traps it would take to slow down our snake population.

Hard to say really, I caught about a dozen last year and have already killed 2 so far this year, that's copperheads I haven't seen a bull or rat snake so far, If by chance you happen across an albino bull snake if you could see fit to contain it unharmed I would love to have it, I have one don't know what the sex is but I'd like to have a pair of them, I got my albino last year as a baby and it is growing well.

The neighbor across the road is having a yard sale he has a 16 hole nest box set up in great shape, not sure what he wants for it, I would have considered it but don't need anything that large and I have a thing for building stuff like that for myself when I do need it

DD ask last night about setting up a camera for the brooder boxes. I know it is frustrating when you can't control what is coming after your eggs or birds.

Bill if we get an albino you can have him. Most of ours look normal. Last yr I only found 2 snakes that were not bullsnakes. DD well tell you she ain't scared of them I imagine she would just pick it up & carry it around. She just freaks out when they are near her birds or eggs. The one earlier had an egg in its mouth & when the loppers got him he released the egg & she cheered.
Crazy hen went right back to sitting after we pulled the snake out!
Going to finish getting stuff ready for tomorrow. Hope we don't melt while we are there. We have hopes of being there by 930.

Monty, I'm so sorry about your birds. Stray dogs have killed more of my animals the past 20 yrs than anything else.

I called the Stillwater Vet College Avian Dept and they're going to see my Faverolles baby at 3:00 this afternoon! I'm so happy!. If something can be done to help her I'll do it. I've had hip surgery and stomach surgery done on dogs and cats. I'm not going to let the fact that she's a bird stop me. They said they'd love to see her, a bird's a bird, they see chickens all the time. There's also a surgery for this condition if she's got it bad enough that surgery can be done. You all laugh all you want, we all have our priorities cool.png

Thank you for the suggestion, Deanne!

you go girl!

i had something smart to say, but decided i wanted to live for another few days!
