I had a wonderful time at NEOCS. I met alot of very nice people and it is good to put a face with a name. Promised myself I wasn't gonna buy anything, but I did! I bought a trio of Red Gingers and a pair of Bearded Belgium D'Anvers.  Very pretty chicks if I do say so myself.  I guess I had a hankering for the Bantams today.  Didn't see any Blue Orpingtons.  Really wanted some of them.  If I had enough pens and a bunch of money I could have filled up a semi with all of those beautiful chickens, ducks and guineas.

It was a good turnout in the beginning but was so hot that most everyone left early.  Coral did a great job setting this up.  They said we could have brought fans.  Next time, I will!  The auction was good but the people that had a reserve price should have said so from the beginning instead of letting people bid and then telling them they could not have them at that price.  Would have saved alot of time.  However, I can understand people not wanting to let go of their poultry at too low a price.  It just needs to be clear before any bidding gets started.

On another note, I can't wait until the next meet.  Will definitely have to go to the next POOPS meet.  I am totally exhaused and ready for bed.  big_smile.png

Hope to see you all again next time.

so what is this POOPS you speak of? and where and when is it?

POOPS is the People of Oklahoma Poultry Swap.  It is usually in the spring and it was in Choctaw this last time. Not sure if it is the same every year or not.  It is a lot of fun as well.

i started to superimpose another pic in there, but thought better of it.  i was afriad someone would come to my house and beat me up if i did!

although a handsome man pic would have made it more enjoyable for everyone, i decided to keep my face out of it and just stay in the background.

Glad you folks had a good time. We picked up another 17 layers at Newcastle last night. That is 40 in the last 2 weeks. Another 20 or so and we will have close to 100. That should tide us until our pullets start laying this winter.

Next stop, Blanchard.
