Good Morning all.

Taking Red to the vet this morning.  He had fluid on his ear...looks like there is a cigar in there.  Happened last yeartoo  and then he had surgery to slit, clean and stitch it back with some tag stitches thru  the ear to hold the layers of skin to the cartilage.  Vet thought it was a bite of some kind.  It is smaller this time so catching it early.

Yesterday we set H posts and single posts in concrete on the new pond dam to connect the fences back and will set a gateway across the dam.  We had sprinkles the whole time keeping us cool....never got the ground wet  .Looking forward to a break in the weather this afternoon with the front.

Sorry for the losses and congrats on the ribbons!

Christy..hope you get answers and relief soon.

Christina, that's got to be really hard for you to deal with, I'm so sorry. You've always been the BYC energizer bunny. I never knew how you did it. I hope it's something relatively simple. The tests and the waiting will drive a person crazy. I'm anxious to hear if they find anything. I just can't imagine what it could be.

MacGuyver, that little frizzle Cochin is the coolest looking bird. All 6 of the Araucanas I got from Joe at NEOCS are doing so well and have remained ultra friendly.
Does anyone else feed Nutrena All Flock feed? I went back to it recently and while it's $20 for 50 lbs, the birds on it are solid as rocks and feel so hefty. It's just got to be the food. It's18% protein, maybe it's just the higher protein making them fill out? They're in the middle of molting though and I figured they'd need the higher protein. The Araucana roo I got from Joe has always had a nice amount of meat on his bones and now even more so. It's not making them fat, it's like it's making them heavier though. Strange.

I use All Flock. I keep oyster shell and grit in bowls and feed them All Flock. I do love how solid they feel, like you said. I've been tempted by Flock Raiser from Purina since I found out that their chicken feed is by Purina Land o' Lakes not Purina Nestle. I bought a couple bags to try out while the silkie is raising babies. I think I like the All Flock better though because it's pelleted.

Hey, all you guys that show, what do you feed your cockerels to prep them?

Raising large fowl Dominiques, guineas, and mixed bantams in Central Oklahoma. I like to build chicken coops, pens and equipment with recycled found objects, less charitably known as JUNK. Hence the user name.

Atwoods in Shawnee is set up for a shipment also.  They had ducks, guineas and a few bantams Thursday afternoon.  A few of the bantams were not doing well....teeny tiny things.   Geese were to come in for the weekend.  Might call them to see what has arrived.  275-5000
