I am applying for a permit to have chickens in my urban backyard. I am trying to determine if chickens need vaccinations?

I had mine vaccinated for Marek's Disease and coccidiosis before the hatchery shipped them to me.  From what I've read, looks like that Marek's Disease is something REALLY important to vaccinate against.

This is the best answer I have.

If you buy chicks from a hatchery you can have them vaccinated for Mereks.
And I think usually what you buy from the feed store have been.
If you buy from an individual they most likely won't be.
You feed chicks medicated feed until they reach poiint of lay and that takes care of most stuff.

BUT.....do a search on here and you will get more informed answers than mine.
