Crystal, what kind of Silkie did you use in the mix?

I did a Houdan x Silkie comby a while ago, but used the original Chinese "Black Phoenix" non bantam Silkie.
Other than the ... stink eye they seem similar, but overall a little less black and possibly larger than mine.
The big question is the color.
All of our "Houkies" ended up with full black plumage even after a few showed good white and black contrast your's may have much more white stay through adulthood, if so I'd be extra curious about the Silkie breed used to cross.

These are my Silkie x EE cross pullets. My favorite is the white one with the blue head. They all have darker heads for their colors - anyone know what causes that?

I don't know what causes it, but you could prolly breed them to get black creasted white silkies! I like them!!
