It is interesting to see how the silkie cross chicks all get that mohawk when they are young, and when they mature, it goes away.

I have 3 siblings - same silkie Dad, the boys have the same Mom (BO) and their sister's Mom was a NH Red.
One of the boys bred with my black banty in May, had 4 chicks out of 6 survive. Only one has the silkie feathers, 3 have the black feet, 3 have black beaks, 2 have dark eyes, none have the 5th toe.

I think the one with Grandpa's silkie feathers is a boy, Puffles has been the biggest chick since he hatched.

Anyone have a buff brahma rooster/ partridge silkie hen cross? I am getting a hen and two chicks from this cross and did not get great pictures of them. Would like to see a good picture.

Naamahbengals, Here's the LF sillkie(not sure M or F?, but have a smallish single comb and medium hanging wattles) that I just got today, compare to a tuftless/ beardless bantam silkie hen. I asked, unfortunately, they said no selling of day old chicks or hatching eggs But, if you don't mind a large almost laying age hen or rooster/cockerel, I might be able to help on that p.s. sorry this is a silkie cross thread and these aren't silkie cross, but pure(?). Just thought some might like to see a LF silkie comparison

Hey!!! If you cross a silkie/Cochin cross hen back with a pure silkie roo is it possible to get babies with silkie feathers???? Thanks!!
