Hi, I don’t know how active this thread is but chooks man told me about it earlier in the year, I’ve skim read it but have probably missed things. I’m looking to breed my own line of English standard golden cuckoos using my French black coppers, likely with English dark cuckoos. This is probably a while away, depending on things I might have to wait a few years, but I still have some questions so I can at least plan.
What colour are we looking for in the hackles? I imagined them being essentially barred BCMs but now I’ve seen pics here I’ve realised they’re a lot paler.
Also, since they are paler, are they s+/s+ and just dilute/lacking in Autosomal red, or S/S with high autosomal red?
Am I right in saying that they should be pure for birchen ideally, rather than carrying or full wheaten?
