Vaccines and worming for ducks and geese?

I worm my geese twice a year with horse wormer. The kind that comes in the tube. It seems to work well, but use it in small portions. Think of the wormer, meant for a 1000 lb horse, in relative size to your much smaller goose.

Geese are very resistant to almost everything. They do not need vaccinations and I've never wormed mine. I rescued a very bedraggled, malnourished goose last year, took her to the vet and had them do a fecal for parasites. I expected she'd be full of them. Nope, not one.

They can and do get sick, but it is very rare if your environment is safe and their nutritional needs are met. That's the cool thing about geese (and ducks too), they are tough if you get their environment and nutritional needs taken care of
