Me too! I don't know about NC but I did find Huckleberry Farm with beautiful birds in SC! We're planning on visiting sometime this Fall.

Thank you! That's around 4 hours away, but may be my only option. I'm sure the dh will be thrilled lol.png If she happens to have hatchlings when you're there, and you happen to live somewhere slightly closer to me in NC, you may have to nab one up for me! I just need one pretty little hen...yes, need roll.png haha

Here are my two little females from Jordan Farms, one with dark down and one with light down, taken at one day and taken at two weeks:

Crossing my fingers because I THINK my last female from GaryDean is clean from the CRD breakout we had, our last surviving male is back in quarantine after putting down his last quarantine coopmate (an ameraucana) Thursday.  I am not counting them at all until we have been 10 days clean!!!  SO ready for this ordeal to be over...

We most likely won't be picking up any until Spring, but we are only 1 hour away from Huckleberry...and I may just have some family up in your general direction ;)

Here are my two pretty girls, I posted their baby pics a few weeks ago.  They are 7 1/2 weeks old now.  You can definitely tell which one had lighter down and which one had darker down.  They are growing nicely!  The lighter one definitely has a better tail though and much better yellow legs.

A breeder in the UK told me that they were negotiating a contract with an organic egg company to import Cream Legbars to the USA last year to make hybrid commercial blue egg layers.  Things didn't work out with them, but he said that the USA company did get a German Strain of Cream Legbars from Canada???

Below is an article I found on the USA company's Website.

It looks like they market Marans Eggs and Americauna Eggs under the the name of Heirloom eggs.  I am guessing that the "German Strain" of Cream Legbars from Canada might really be a USA Americauna.  The UK breeder didn't actually seem to know that their were already blue egg breeds in the USA.  He may not have even know what an Americana was.  :-)

Sheesh I sure hope a bunch of hybrids don't flood the market all of a sudden- we are having a hard enough time nailing down what the pure birds are supposed to look like!
