Hi Stefanie we are clearing out some juveniles right now and I saw your post about wanting a different rooster. We hatched this guy out of some eggs that came from a person who got their birds from Skyline Poultry. Skyline Poultry imported their own Basque so this guy would be from a completely different line than your guys now. He's yours for $15.00 if you want him.

A few pics:

Chickens: 3 Basque Hens, 4 Olandsk Dwarfs, 5 Swedish Flower Hens, and 2 Seramas.

Ducks: 1 Khaki campbell, 1 Black Crested duck, 4 Muscovies, and a Mallard that visits every once in a while .

Geese: 2 Old English.

Chicks/Juveniles: 10 Basque Hens, 12 Swedish Flower Hens, 5 Rhodebars, and  2 Seramas.

Yesterday I  had some local folks come by and pick up all my extra chicks, all around 2 weeks old.  I held back 2 EO pullets and the 2 Cream Legbar cockerels that had hatched.  Today I check the brooder, and one of the 2 EO's has since yesterday slipped a tendon in her leg and will have to be culled.  Ugh.

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

I'm going to have a few extra EO roosters for sale soon. They're 4 weeks old today! We only want to keep one or two and we have four.

Moved the "Sevens" into a bigger broody tonight and got a few quick pics before they messed it up to much.  They screamed and squacked when I put them on the shavings, silly things were trying to dust bathe in all the food they had thrown on the floor of the old box.

Still trying to get pictures to post from photobucket to the other forum, not getting the numbers under the images.  Working from a tablet does make it more challenging.

4 pullets for sure. 2 Cockerels for sure and one iffy--Great ratio of boys to girls!
