why are my chickens sleeping outside??????

I'm having a similar problem. In 2018 we had a beautiful lovely flock of birds that would sleep in the coop, lay in their nesting boxes, and free range during the day.. this group is all new and our 2000 coop was a waist they would rather sleep putside.. which was no big deal until they slept in the rain and now I hear coughing

Does anyone have tips? I closed off the "open run" and they are only in the covered coop run now which isn't big enough for them to live permanently should a couple days in there train them to sleep in the coop or atleast under the covered run? I may also try to add a light tonight

Might be better to start a new thread here and describe your flock and coop with some info:
Knowing more about your goals for keeping chickens,
your flock size(numbers, ages, genders),
your coop(size in feet by feet with pics),
might offer clues to if there is a solvable problem.
