Hello,

One of of rhode island reds has a swollen vent the size of a golf ball and the rear is slowly leaking a whitish fluid that crusts all over the rear end feathers.  I put some aloe and preparation H, any other suggestions.

If it is very sticky and smells sickly sweet then it could be vent gleet. If not that other possiblilites are an infection or broken egg inside. Do a search here on vent gleet to see if that may be it.
