Here's a picture of our outdoor run, it measures about 100'x45'.  The ducks have a stall in our barn as their coop......the door opens right into the run.  It is completely netted on top and I used 2x3 welded wire attached to the fence.

A Husband ~ 4 yr old son ~ 1 1/2 year old daughter ~ 12 horses ~ 2 dogs ~ 2 barn cats ~ a green cheek conure ~ 3 goldfish ~ 30 chickens, 14 ducks and 10 guineas

droolin That is a huge run... your ducks are very lucky! I could never get the flight top netting to do well, where I live, there is way to much snow hit

Chickens:  3 Japanese, 2 Dutch, 2 Milli D'Uccle, 3 Anconas, 3 Minorcas, 5 Ameraucanas, 1 black laced polish " Elvis".
Ducks: 7 Rouens, 4 Mallards, 2 Magpie, 3 Pekins, 3 Snowy Mallards, 3 khaki Campbells, and 2 wood ducks, 11 mom-hatched ducklings!
It all started 4 years ago with 5 ducks...

This is ours, nothing fancy.  The blue tarp was replaced this winter with 6 t-5 boards.

droolin That is a huge run... your ducks are very lucky! I could never get the flight top netting to do well, where I live, there is way to much snow hit


Check this one...the chicken wire holds up pretty well with LOTS of snow!It has bowed some but for now it works until we put fencing on top.

1 Weim,1 Pomeranian, 2 Cats,2 fish tanks, flock of 30(or so ) BLRW chickens,flock of Banties(Cochins,Showgirls,Greylegs and Silkies), Flock of Ancona Ducks (B&W,Lav & W),Flock of Mallards (Blue Fawn and Restricteds) 6 Muscovies, 3 Narragansett Turkeys,2 Geese(Toulouse), 2 Budgies,2 zebra finch, 2 Cockatiels.... and oh yeah, 5 great kids( 2 have flown the coop) and an enabling hubby

I really like your set-up... gathering ideas before my big endeavor.  How big is it?

Slave to 2 bearded dragons, plated lizard, 2 horses, 3 cats, 3 dogs, 2 hamsters, 1 bunny, 2 BSL, 1 Patridge Rock, 1 NH, 5 white Silkies, 2 GLP, and 2 bantam BO..... guess I need to mention my 2 human teenagers .Biology teacher to lots and lots of teenagers!!!

Recent Barnyard surprises: 5 polishx, 2 BOxPolish, and 2 silkie chickies.

COMING Spring: Salmon Faverolles, EE and Welsummers.... hoping...

Do you lock them in the coop at night?
I also see you used the welded dog wire... have you been happy with that?

Is that a pond partially covered by plywood?

2 Blue Swedish, 2 Cayuga, 7 Welsh Harlequin, 4 Indian Runners, 7 Saxony, 5 Muscovy, 5 Pilgrim geese, 5 American Buff geese, 2 Sebastopol geese, and a good sized flock of assorted chicken breeds(Barnevelder, Buckeye, EE, Lavender Orpington, Wellsummer, Black Australorp, Dark Brahma, and Production Reds).

halecards; I read the first page and noticed you wanted to know the gender of your Welsh Harlequins. smile
I have a pair and my female, and I think this is normally true, has a dark bill and then my male has the white/lighter bill.

2 welsh harlequins, 2 indian runners, 1 black swedish, 1 crested pekin, guinea pig, rat, and a pit/beagle mix. <3
