'nice' rooster

Our rooster is nice. He even lets me pick him up and carry him around

I have no idea what KIND of rooster he is though? I posted a pic & asked on this forum, so hopefully i'll get some answers or guesses.

He does keep order within the flock. Our girls will get into squabbles & he'll come a running making his clucking noise lol
 
OP, I'm sure you must have another rooster by now. But if not, I would highly suggest getting a mature rooster a few years old. That way he'll have a history, and you can specifically look for one that is known to be good with people and gentle on hens.
I took in a d'uccle roo, 2 years old. He fit the bill in both respects, and has been a good roo for us for the past year.
 
My brahma rooster is 'nice'. Tonight I brought grapes down for the birds and he must have carried half a dozen of them to the girls before he ate any himself. It was kind of fun to watch. He's not friendly toward me, but not aggressive, either. When I look or walk toward him he just walks away. When I approach him on the roost, he jumps down and goes outside. I'm fine with that. I have no desire to make a pet out him. He's just a nice, calm rooster that takes care of his hens.
