They sound lovely! Nothing prettier than EEs and with feathered legs, no less. Congratulations!

Thanks! They're beautiful little chicks.

I'll have to post some pics later this week when we fix our computer. Oh, and they do have black legs 1muttsfan! I just love them!

Panic!!! We found our OEGB chick(who was being raised with the EEs) dead this morning, and after hearing that handling chicks too much can hurt them, I'm wondering if this is my fault.

The most we held the chicks was once a day but I'm still a little worried. We're not going to be handling them until they get older, but do you think what we did caused a death? That was the only bantam in the batch so that might be a variable, so do you think that was the problem? I know this problem probably shouldn't be posted here but this concerns the EE chicks and I want to know if I caused something bad to happen.

Any answers are appreciated!

I don't think it's anything that you have done....my hen has killed 3 so far, I am assuming she has stepped on them

not a mark on them, just dead, and all were very healthy. Yours being a bantam probably put it at higher risk...

Yeah... Oh well, that's just life I guess. I didn't expect everything to go perfect, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't messed with them too much. I'm glad for the three healthy chicks I have left though!

One of them is a broiler/RIR cross that's yellow with a grey body. It's already starting to get it's wing feathers in, and they appear to be grey(almost self blue). How did it get those colors if it wouldn't have parents with grey in them? I hope it stays like that, because I think it looks neat. Thanks!

These are the EEs we've been talking about this whole time!

This is the one we think has feathered feet.

Feathered feet?

His/her sibling who was facinated by the camera.

This is the RIR/broiler cross I have questions about. Where did he get his color?

A pic of his new wing feathers.

So what do you guys think?
