Where to get cheap hardware cloth?

Montopolis Supply has been the best I've found; but, I pick up so I'm not sure what their shipping fees would set you back. They offer you the choice of stuff made in China (really cheap) or a bit more cost for stuff made in America. You can find their price list here: http://www.montopolissupply.com/media/MSC_Prices.pdf

If you scroll down, you'll see their cost for hardware cloth in 1/2", 1/4" and 1/8" sizes - all in 100' rolls:

1000

They have heavier gauge "welded wire" in 1/2"x1" sizes in 100' rolls, as well. And, really, really cheap 1" chicken wire.

No. Chicken wire is good for the top of the run for hawk protection.

Hey thanks! Just what I needed to hear.

Anyone have a picture of a mixed run like this? I, too, am looking to offset cost this time around because we have a long hunting season and I will have a ton of birds. Totally out in the stix, so predator control is paramount. Thanks!

I talked with my local true value hardware (I shop there often) The manager (owner) hooked me up with a great deal I told him how much I needed so he ordered it (bulk) so he saved money and so did I was way cheaper than places like lowes. Your mom and pop stores still match or beat the BIG box stores and are way more friendly. Ohh yah and he said I owed him a dozen eggs when they started laying.

Definately craigslist is the place to save lots of $ on chicken supplies.we have bought 4 awesome chicken tractors each costing no more than $75.And a few repairs n they are still sturdy, safe n daily usef
