At least 2 of our 6 red stars started at 16 weeks!

Love chicken math!  RIP Tuff: DD's favorite RIR roo who died trying to protect his girls from the neighbors' crazy dog.

Well it's official.  My Red SLs started laying at 18 weeks!  My Easter Egger waited until 22 weeks.  Boo @ her for that.

My youngest hens are 24 weeks and if you think I'm having a fit waiting for them to mature, you should see the rooster! gig

Love those Orps!

I don't care why the chicken crossed the road, as long as mine don't!

My three Red Stars all layed their first on the same day(!) at 18 weeks, and have rarely missed a day since. Yesterday morning it was -22C here in Colorado Springs but the Stars still had a beautiful, big, brown egg each.  Love them Stars!

My Red Stars are 10 1/2 weeks old. So between 6 and 10 more weeks? Oh well...
