Bob-Bird - Page 2

I have a 10x20 breeder section reserved for a pair of Stromberg bob birds just to see. wink

That do not breed in wild statement could just relate to coturnix genes.  Remember all those coturnix released during the 50s.

Even if you could find a place that would sell sexed birds, what would be the point? They would be sterile, so you couldn't hatch their eggs.

Darn, I read some were that their eggs were fertile hmm

Who said they don't breed in the wild? I said they would be sterile...like breeding a pekin duck to a muscovy or a donkey to a horse. You might get them to cross but that's as far as you're going to get.

The "mule Effect" Does Not Apply To Galliforms Or Most Alves.... The Sterility Factor Has Already Been Disproved By Japanese Scientists. This Is Related To The Same Reason We Can Selectively "set Traits" With Inbreeding And Not Have A Bird With 3 Heads 1 Leg And No Tail...

This Very Same Reality Has Led To A Serious Problem With "tainted Gene Pools" In Some Ornimental Pheasant Speces

I'm Not Yelling!... Thanx Anyway, But Its The Best Way For Me To Read The Print On The Screen.....LF Cochins, SERAMA, RINGNECK AND RUFFED PHEASANTS, MEL. MUTANT RINGNECKS, BLUE SLATE TURKEYS, MALLARDS, WOOD DUCKS, ROUENS, BUTLER BOB WHITES, COTURNIX. PM ME FOR EGG AVAILABILITIES!

Any updates on the Bob-Birds, I would like to see pictures

I think I have several of them not a beeding intentional but purely accident, I notice a different quail in my flock of cotournex come to find out it is a bobwhite, a few month later I notice every once in a while I would find a white egg as time went by I notice more white eggs, I decide to keep several(about 25) and hatched them a few weeks ago, within 3 weeks I notice they were different they were making call they look like cotournex but their head looks bobwhite and they have white feathers in their wings. and they are very active and make a lot of noices.

Thanks for any updates, been looking for more info and details but no much out there
