New to chickens, can they be raised in Alaska????

Why not? If you use a strong enough line I cant see why It wouldn't work...? We catch 100lb fish on 30 pound line......worth a try! If she swears by it, I have no reason to doubt her, she's been in chickens longer then Ive been alive

We use gill-net on top of our pens. It is a pale green, and is strong enough to hold a LOT of salmon, so I figured it would keep the birds in and the predators out.

If he doesnt let you cut his stuff up. There is a recycle bin at the dump down here where I get ours from. Never had a bird of prey get a hen yet and we have Eagles, Hawks, and Great horned owls.
