My experience with Purely Poultry

I always order from www.ultimatefarmchicken.com i went and saw there farm. they are super clean, nice, and knowledgeable. They had a house fire so i think they maybe moving, but you can still order online. the chicks are awesome and the guineas are above and beyond awesome. they give away free chicks to random facebook fans. i won $100 credit or 50 Chicks. i got 50 rir's and started my new breed. i have heard good things about purely poultry but i do think they only drop ship, like these guys with amazon or ebay. i have had no luck with mccmurray or cackle. and omg meyer hatchery and ideal poultry do not even have pure breeds, i had 12lbs sumatras, and 5 lbs barred rocks... i lost half of my order from ideal...

my wife just said purely poultry has a vendor sign up page on their site where random people can sign up to ship chickens for them... How the #$%^ do you know what you are getting?

This "ufc" you've mentioned, in every post you've made on this forum, appears to be a drop shipper as well…I could be wrong. Can you or anyone tell me what is different about the american homestead institute and every other hatchery? The claims on their site seems to be aimed at persuading the uninformed that they are better somehow but I'm just not seeing how. Maybe I am uninformed :)

most hatcheries sell 80,000 plus chicks a week. ufc is / was a local farm here in south carolina. they raise their own chickens and have a network of other farmers, we use to chat with them every week end at the flea and farmer market. i think these breeders and ufc drop ship for each other but they all raise certain breeds of chickens. even the hatcheries drop ship from breeding farms for those breeds they don't raise. i just support small business and am a loyal customer to ufc. they are good people. i wish them nothing but blessings. i noticed they were not on here so i figured i would post in their favor.
The drop shipping i have issues with are the guys running a business from there bedroom and have never raised a chicken, and are probably to afraid to touch a live one. Drop ship is just how internet sales work. but live animals from million dollar corporations and a bunch of internet geeks making money... i dont know it does not seem right. however, breeders selling for each other while being active in their community, and supporting each other does not bother me.. that is all

as far a american homestead institute, i dont know them, or the group ufc worked with, but i know their chickens. they do have great chickens, happy and healthy...

I ordered 4 Black Swedish from Purely Poultry in June and they have no white and look amazingly like my Cayuga's. I really didn't want more Cayuga's.

If you want ducks or geese buy from Metzer Farms period . Been buying from them for years. Never a problem. Easy to SPEAK to people there and the same family and farm for decades.
