For those of you who have the Golden Girls theme going on (I have Dorothy and Blanche), Shady Pines.  “Shady Pines, Ma. Shady Pines.”

Owned by 2 grown offspring, 2 spoiled cats (Albert and Stanley), and 7 (correction: 10; chicken math, ya know) silly biddies: Blanche, Clara Cluck, Dorothy, Olivia, Miss Prissy, Agnes, Edwina, Eunice, Ruby and Bernice, who fill my basket with gorgeous multicolored eggs.

Our coop is going to be called Wallpa Wasi. It's Quechua for "chicken house". My partner does research in Ecuador, and is learning Quechua, so we thought it was a fun name.

As we were admiring our work on our coop today... My husband suggested that we call ours the Love Shack... which I immediately corrected to l'œuf shack... "l'œuf" being French for "the egg".

Supporting the arts = paying artists a fair wage. Art Prices should be reflecting an hourly wage (time has value)+mastery(value of skills & experience)+material cost (paint, paper, etc)+taxes (because it's the law)+shipping (because it isn't safe or free). When an artist gives away work, they don't value/appreciate the time invested in their talent/skills or that artwork.  So why would you?

Mr. Cogburn was named before the coop was even started to be built and that's how I just came up with the coop name. Any John Wayne fan will see the humor.

That is exactly what I named my rooster! Before I even bought my chickens, I knew that my rooster was going to be named Cogburn!
