You can do okay with voice...
The low pitch are usually males and the high (earpiercing) pitch are the females...

If you pick one up do the others quack?

The lady I got mine from showed me how to vent sex and compared them to the quacks... she was always right on...
Wish I could help more...

look at their bills. The drakeswill usually be a darker greenish with the hens starting to get some orange. Also, the drakes heads will usually be darker.

got any relatively close pictures of your ducks?

At a month old, it may be a little harder to tell as many still peep and have dark bills.  Usually at around 6 or 7 weeks, you'll see a voice and bill color change.  But, I did notice that the female ducklings were extremely loud peepers at a month old.
