Partridge Silkies - Nothing else - Page 270

Hey, I've been trying to figure out if my patridge silkie roo is good breeding material. I want to breed for show. Can you guys give me some tips? This is Brutus, and he is 6 months old. photo(8).JPGphoto(5).JPGI think maybe his beak is too long? And what kind of feathering are they suppose to have on their feet? And does anyone have a good pick of what the extra toe should look like? Also, is he too red?

He isn't a partridge; he is a red, and a very nicely coloured one at that!

Just curious; is my Partridge Silkie rooster good enough quality to show? Sorry if the pictures don't do him any justice. He really is a nice looking bird, more so in person. Just kind of a jerk...

He's grown a teensy bit since I've taken these pictures. It's his birthday today too, so he's officially a rooster instead of a cockerel! :3

He is Buff? He has partridge colored wing feathers, and I bought him from a batch of partridge chicks...all the rest have the partridge colors... The one on the right is my buff hen, ginger, that I bought before the 4 partridge. photo(18).JPGHe is next to Ginger. He is much darker than she is.

I think he is very pretty :) I am trying to figure out myself what is considered good quality in a partridge silkie roo.

Thanks. :3 You have very nice Silkies too.

And same. I want to show him open class at this certain show coming up near me (along with the Modern Games and Polish frizzles, of course), because I think he might end up doing well. I bought birds that are supposedly show quality, so I might as well use them. tongue.png Plus, according to the Poultry Standard of Perfection, he seems like he would be good enough. But I still dunno...

I need to look up that Poultry Standard of perfection and see if mine qualifies. I want to show my roo too, but I can't find a show near me :(
