I have a Catdance partridge Silkie ("Bouffant"), hatched 2/25/11, who is available, and I'd love for her to go to someone who would love her. She just hatched and raised a chick and is getting back into the swing of things. We're clearing out our current stock to make room for some new breeds.

Anyone know someone who would be interested in her? We're in Kitsap County, WA

Here is an updated photo of Ms. Fluffy. Well, I'm guessing it is "Ms." by judging her submissive behaviour and her look.  Fluffy is 3 months old.

She has more of the brown feathering filling in and taking over the blue.  Is she a blue partridge? If not, what exactly should a blue partridge look like?hu.gif

Not my fault, the Farmer's market made me do it-

My other animals: DH, 4 kids, 3 beautiful Grandchildren, 1 dog, 7 cats

I think I have become both an addict and an enabler ;-P

I have 1 dark partridge silkie hen named Cinnamon. She is really funny and sweet!

Cinnamon

Edited to add: What do you guys think about my dark partridge? I think she's gorgeous but I do not know if she's showable. Her crest should fill out a bit more. Is her color showable? It's not like the standard color of partridge I have seen.

I have 18 chickens, one kitten, 3 dogs, 2 hermit crabs, and live on 20 acres in the country. I am CrAzY about chickens and plan on getting more! I am continually working to better my chicken practices and to better my flocks.

Hi, All! Brand new chicken owner here!

I recently got 3 silkies...

100_3220.JPG

(Sandy, Vern, and Raven)

They are 2 weeks old and I can't wait to see what they look like when they get older (especially Sandy since I see how much partridges change while growing)! I have absolutely no chicken experience and have already learned a TON from this sight. I can't get over how pretty the partridges with the red are, they are definately my favorite. I hope Sandy gets at least a little red on her. I just wish it didn't take so long to sex them! It's like dragging out a surprise FOREVER!

They are precious.  It looks like someone is "lullaby-ing" them to sleep.  I think all of us are still learning here on BYC (and trying not to become addicted).  barnie.gifI agree that trying to figure out (and wait) to know their gender is the worst!  Good luck with your adorable babies.love.gif
