Thanks so for your response. I love these two they are really cool! I spend a lot of time with them and all my chicks are pretty comfortable with me. Dali bonded with me though on the first day I brought them home. I used to have a flock of silkies and I love those too but this time I want full sized egg producers and I understand the WFBS are that too. I look forward to seeing your photos.
I finally got my camera and computer to talk. Here's a few shots of Apr 2019 hatch. I'm not really sure I've made improvement. As I've said the parents seemed to need 18 months to peak.
Beautiful! Not sure what you need to improve they all look great but I’m certainly no expert. My boy is a great bird, so far he’s calm and quiet and loves hangin out with me. A little crowing now and then but not a lot . I had one day we’re he was really pickng on one of my EE pulleys but that didn’t continue. He’s been great at showing the girls were goodies are and watching for danger as well as stopping the girls from too much pecking order nonsense. Today we were sitting together stayin cool and I got a good shot of his head. He’s really changing. it’s fun to watch him grow. Thank for your pictures.
I read an article one time in which the author(s) tried to figure out what makes hens like one rooster over another...they decided it was whether or not he made food calls. Since then I've observed, and I'm convinced its a behavior that generally marks a good flock master.
