Still lurking... probably won't get a swap page set up until later in the fall when there's not so much to get done outside, besides playing=)   interesting about the salmonella outbreak here in ID, hadn't heard about it...  Still new to some of this, the only hatchery I knew of was Dunlap here in ID, but of course there could be others... fortunately, all my current chickens were from local people, the only hatchery stock I have are 2 Delawares from cackle...

My quail hatched from groundpecker and mrheinz77..........my incubator still needs some adjusting.....great humidity and temp but the fan is too much come hatch time.......I need to figure out how to reduce the force of the airflow on the eggs once they pip.

I'm happy to have 14  little coturnix cuties........

I got three surprise eggs from Jim (2 Welsummer and 1 BBS Ameraucana), all three hatched today under my broody Icelandic hen.  I got six silkie eggs from Randy, three have hatched.....and I will give the other three until tomorrow morning and then will move momma and chicks to the broody coop and get some pics to post.

I have a request. I just lost my show winning black silkie roo. This guy was just perfect and I need to replace him. Does anybody want to do a trade on some black bearded silkie eggs? I only want eggs from pure black show quality parents. I'm not hatching  many eggs right now but I really need to get some eggs and a cockerel to grow up so I can get my black pen back up and running (breeding).  I'm pretty sure my black silkie hens aren't fertile so if anybody has gotten any from me in the last 2 weeks and they where not fertile please let me know. PM me and i'll work something out with another color that is available. This is what i'm getting right now

2 sizzle eggs a day from Ghost and Pricilla x paint silkie roo Ghost is a silver laced grey and Pricilla is a paint

1 from the porcelain pen. I've been getting mostly lavender chicks and a few split to lavender chicks

The paint hen is laying from time to time

2 to 3 splash silkie eggs a day

GG Bob White

JB Cortunix

All my silkies are SQ and many of them are from Bobbi Porto's stock

PM me with any offers and thanks in advance for the help

Hi everyone- I just wanted to say I know 3 people owe me hatching eggs but I am not so sure I am going to collect them.
I just went out to the brooder to put the chicks in the outside pen and half of them were dead, the survivors don't look like they will be alive much longer. I really don't want to tell my byc friend who's eggs they hatched from... I have been sending her pics every week and keeping her updated.
Last night we ran out of chicken food so we gave them a piece of bread and thats the only thing I can think that killed them. They were 3 weeks old. I am so mad at myself.
This week my quail eggs were supposed to hatch and none did.
Last week my bantam hen was killed by something.
A couple weeks before that my only orloff died of cocci.
I am just feeling like I don't really deserve to have chickens now. My 25 chickens that are 20 weeks now all were so healthy, no complications. Now all of a sudden I have all these chicken deaths and I just feel like I am doing something wrong.

Hey guys and gals... anyone here have any White Leghorn hatching eggs?  I am getting some Black Australorps this week and would like to try crossing them with the leghorns to make the Austra Whites that I've read so much about.  I just don't have any leghorns to do it with!  lol.  If you'd be interested in a side swap or just a flat out sale, please let me know.  Thanks!

I gave my 5 week olds a whole wheat bun and scrambled eggs for a day when I ran out of food and they never had a problem so I am not shure what happend. Hopefully somone will know more. Im so sorry things have been going badly.
