WHAT YA GOT SWAP Chat Thread - Page 887

thanks crossgirl , my daughter is the only one i got so she gets lonely. when she was young and changed for barbies at age 3-4 to pokemon... i decided i had a choice learn about what she is interested or not.  so i chose to and my hubby didnt. so glad i did cause to this day it gives us something to talk about.  i learned all about pokemon, have my favorites (i like grass types) and have my own deck when we play and i'm pretty good at pokemon.  even had a ds game etc and played for a long while (now im not sure were my pearl game is)  i'm a little rusty on it now.

the neopets i played with her online and the card game is new to me. we need more cards i guess cause its played differently than pokemon. so i got creamed :) but she had fun. and for once not hiding on her computer.  so it does give us bonding time. :)

thanks crossgirl and b-hep for the waterbottle help. i cant wait for emvic's eggs to hatch and my ee :)  i was setting that cage up last night and hubby was like why are you putting bedding in it.... im like cause i told you the eggs hatch next thursday....  and he looks at me funny.  lol.  i was like i told you hatch date was the 8th.  oh i know you told me that. I guess he didn't realize so soon.

I am so excted i look at everyones chick pictures and want to scoop them up.

oh so question for the peeps that have seramas.  i know they have 3 different weight classes. but what about colors?  cause like they seem to be all mixed colors. does color matter? does anyone breed for a specific color. i know i should run to go read my SOP but wanted a simple answer i guess.

so do BLRWs lay a light brown egg???????

i know i'm full of questions this am.  like a kid... LOL.

Meepit....   Yes BLRW lay light brown eggs

as far a Serama......  Yes all colors and yes some breed for specific colors. I think White & Black due to APA standards, not sure which color is recognized or both. Tons of info here on the Serama thread of SCNA website.  I breed mine for pretty colors or feather type. I have 2 frizzled hens and 1 just started laying.  Also have a silked rooster.

Speaking of serama's we took some out to the show yesterday here in NC. Between my friend and I we had 11. She took Best of Breed with a very small pullet and one of my small young cockerels took Reserve of Breed! clap.gif Not a pic from the show but this is my little guy.

Ok so now i want seramas... i will put them on my want list :) i looked up the breed website, very informative. i also like that you can keep mixed pens.

so japs have a leathal gene- do seramas do as well or that's not an issue with them?  japs when you get the 2 short legged genes the chicks wont hatch :( its sad to see them develop and not hatch. so looking for an additional banty breed. :)

so looking for bantams in:

seramas,

ees

marans

barred rocks

rirs

of course japs :)

oh and congrats on your win :)

UPDATE:

Ok yesterday 2 eggs quit and 1 hatched. The one that hatched was one of the sizzles and didn't absorb the yolk and didn't look completely formed, then it died after an hour :( . The last egg is a GLC and is in the bator and should hatch today. :D I went and saw the goats again yesterday and they have grown so much since the lady sent me the picture. I get to pick them up next saturday.

Good Grief I had to read up on a lot of pages. My internet has been down for days.

Well went to the craft show yesterday.   Didn't do too bad. I sold some soap and some canned goods. I sold 4 of the tote bags and sold the most of the Hand Towels I had. I was shocked. Everybody wanted the hand towels.  I got my table fee back and made some money.  Also handed out some business cards. So hopefully I will get some business. Took pictures of what I have left now just need to list them.

No one bought the aprons though. I made 4 more of them so I took 7 and not 1 sold. Everybody looked at them but they wanted full Aprons.  Where as most people usually wants half aprons. Can't win for loosing.

Here are the new aprons I made.

Reese, Maybe sell the half-aprons with say some matching towels or potholders all bound together with a nice ribbon? Like make a apron set to get them to move at the next craft show?
