Yes, Ebay does not give you your money up front, you have to prove you mailed the items and then wait for your paypal money. It's probably because of their buyer protection plan. Last two auctions I posted there did not sell/ If you want the money the quickest way is to print your postage from their site. Or enter your DC number asap. I am very sad about how the auctions are going here. Mine are slowly selling, but people do not get how to bid and so are reluctant to do so, I think. Good luck, Deb

So does this mean if there is an hour glass saying payment pending through paypal that the buyer has paid and they are just waiting for me to confirm shipment??? I don't remember it being that way, though maybe last year I sold most of my eggs here...

I am usually the 'buyer' anyway!

I think I have been loosing street customers to the neighbor next door. Shortly after I put up my 2 painted signs, one at my mailbox and another way down the road let commuters know eggs are for sale, she put up a 10 x10 inch sign for I think it says $3. Can't really read it as I drive by.

Since I need to sell my eggs to pay for the feed, I decided to try to increase sales via craig's list and a BIN listing here on BYC. Trying to think of other ways locally to move all these eggs to a paying home. Eating eggs for 2 meals a day becomes old really fast. I don't mind using the broken and stained ones, goodness, those keep my family in eggs. But the ones I worked hard to keep clean, wash, store, buy new cartons per Mass regs. Maybe I can bring in enough traffic for both of us.

Maybe it is time to have a cup of tea with a friend with a marketing backround. Goodness, I give her eggs free as she has my youngest over every week for a playdate.

If you are new to selling on ebay they will hold your funds for a while. But i print and pay for shipping on paypal so when i print a label they send the com number and send me the money soon like in 2or3 days. YES the hour glass means that they haven't payed yet ,When the green dollar sign is showing they payed, also they will email you that they payed, Push on the buyers name and a contact menber will show. E MAIL then and ask nicely to pay NOW. I have to do this all the time. I hope this helps

So I packed eggs all morning. When I went online and typed in all the labels, the website would not let me print them. So I spent all that time, and it cost me more because I ended up doing it at the post office. Now tonight my laptop doesn't want to connect to the internet. I went to the hardware store and bought more chicken wire . Even though it was a nice day I didn't get much done. However, I moved the silkies out of the brooder and into a pen in the barn. Now to clean the insulated room and move the chicks from the garage. Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow .

Some days are like that Deb.First thing this morning i went out to the shop to load more stuff for antique booth# 2 and their was a bad smell going from the frig out there. It was not running and we lost all the bacon and some other things that would not fit in the big freezer in the house. Also after cleaning that mess out i dropped my cell phone and broke one of the hinges' but i think i fixed that with cement glue. On a good note i haven't been to the first booth in about a month and we sold a lot of high dollar stuff, good thing we didn't sell hardly anything january.

THanks Coach for the insight on eBay. SOunds like it is worth advertising there afterall.

Deb, some days are busy busy, other days feel like nothing got done. I felt the same way when I worked full time at a mail order catalog company. What's up with not being able to print? Sorry had to spend more to get those eggs shipped. Every penny counts with the cost of grain and fencing. Still waiting for the one ewe. GOtta go--think the grain delivery has arrrived.

I had more problems with the post office printing postage today. So I just went to the local post office. Hope I can figure out what the problem is. Had a scare today, Sasha was missing her kid. She was yelling and looking around, full of milk. I looked everywhere, and even called my neighbor to help me look. Finally Sasha showed up with the kid following her. I guess she had left the kid down the back pasture.
I got the nest box built for the latest coop. Added a coat of paint, now just need to install it. Had to start feeding early this afternoon, thought it was going to rain. Guess it is coming later tonight. Going to town tomorrow. Time for more feed etc.
Took a picture of Slim.. will try to post.

Slim looks great! Your efforts have paid off. I wonder what up with the on ine postage thing. How annoying. Hope you find a solution quickly.

DH came in the house at 8:45p as I was getting my youngest his last bite to eat before bed. Dh said the last ewe had lambed, twins, and he needed help milking her. I milk the ewe and he feeds the bottles. Both with good appetites. I really like the effects of the new ram I got last year. I will keep using him and add 1-2 daughters a year to the flock. He also provides a number of black lambs with white on the head.

Grain delivery arrived today; Comes directly from the mill. I need to build a small silo as a bulk grain bin. I talked to Mr Rhodes last summer and he mentioned that he buys 3 months worth of grain at a time. With the increasing grain prices, the bulk pricing offers some savings. DH and I banter around ideas on the construction. It is a bit unusual as it needs to hold a heavy weight in.

Worked on run for a breeding pen until dark; I'll finish tomorrow.

Wrote a post and it got lost in cyberspace . Spent the day running around. Got some cheap wood and paint at Home Depot, plus a part for the toilet. My back was bad today, I was wishing I had a pain pill all day but they were at home. Tractor Supply had chicks, Black Aussies, Reds and sex links. No, I did not buy any! I have my hands full here. Several of the does are not letting the kids take off enough milk , so now they are coming down with mastitis. It drives me crazy. Maybe I just need to sell most of them. Milking goats is not good when your back hurts and they are being difficult. Goat sale is Friday, I am taking at least one doe and her twin boys. Shipped two boxes of eggs and I did get the postage to print this time. Oh! Two of my duck eggs I set on 2/2 are pipped!:-D

Deb do they have a Re-Store near you? Those are the habitat for humanity, reclaimed wood and furniture and EVERYTHING under the sun stores...all the proceeds or most anyway go to the habitat for humanity homes they build for people....The reason I ask is because we just went to ours, they are relocating and everything was on sale, from even thier really low priced prices. normally a 10 ft 2x4 would be 2.50 it was .66 for a board. We bought close to 150.00 worth of stuff! we got enough plywood,2x4's,2x6's and doors for the coops...cute little cabinet doors, we use for pop doors...all of it OH and Deborahs favorite boxes.and boxes of every kind of nails and screw thingys...hinges you name it all the chickeny stuff to make little cool chicken homes...we figure there is enough wood to build out at least a 90 ft fence for one side of the horse pasture and at least 4 (yes I need that many more) chicken coops! all for 150 or so. just a thought that even if it means you have to drive a bit because we do, the re-stores are a great way to save money look up re-store on the internet in your area...they even have paint and such.. we also picked up a dresser for my daughters room.11.00! It is super heavy nice construction with smooth-as-glass-opening drawers!
Around here we have just finished building out a wonderful grow out pen in one of the big 20 ft stalls,it an extra one now that we sold that horse...plus it has paddock adjoining which will become a covered yard for them to be turned into during the day...Deb did a crazy awesome job on it. It is housing a bunch of various babies growing out right now that are all to big and to many for the brooders...it will BE the Ameraucana coop...Then she split the main laying coop (the front of the coop just seemed to be wasted space) and it is so cool!! maybe I will try to get pics, I am so proud of all of it...cute little racoon proof (knock on wood) pop door and all...you have to use two hands to open and latch it so it should be to hard for them to get into...our Marans and Casperettes (called casperettes because the roo was named casper and they are all little carbon copies of him) are growing out on there...the yard is covered and safe.
My brood hatched out all 5 eggs I gave her...Blue Am roo/ EE or AM girls...SO adorable one splash Pure AM baby the rest are EE's super adorable...
The blue boy roo broke his toe with his crazy BAD mounting style I guess or someone put the big ol boy in his place...he has only just begun mating in the last few months and is of the opinion NO means run it down till it can get stomped into the right position. WELL he broke his toe,So I trudged out with a ruler black electrical tape scissors and my daughter...to hold him when he figured out jumping on my lap was gonna get his toed messed with... anyhow long story short is his toe is now set,and the ruler got cut into a bottom splint and taped...he is getting around great if comically...I have taken to calling him Cassidy instead of "blue boy" For "Hop- Along -Cassidy" Ok well off I go a chickenin...Sorry I wrote so much,Don't know why I did, not trying to hijack yalls thread! HAve a great day!
