I have a three month old EE cockerel and has made odd noises from any chicken/chick I've heard. Of course he's my first roo so I wouldn't know. idunnohu

Chickens are great pets, they're not expensive, they're fun, and though we go through a lot to take care of them........
They do pay rent with healthy eggs!!!!

Yes they are practicing their crowing.  Mine is so cute.  He cant crow worth a bean.  But he tries really hard.

Deb - with 3 wonderful boys (er young men),  maverick genius DH, 1 'Cocker Spanisha girl', 1 Great Pyr,  and 19 hens, 2 roosters.  Bees started in the hives.  5 alpacas, 1 guardian llama, 4  Nigerian Dwarf does and 4 Icelandic lamb ewes.  Life is good.

No matter where you go, there you are.  BB

Does it sound like a somewhat deep gobbling sound?

My young cockerel that started crowing yesterday sounds like a cat hacking up a hairball.

His older brother will be 5 months old soon.  He still doesn't have it right.  roll
