Woman banned for life from Walmart Stores in the US

Some service dogs are so well trained and valuable to the quality of the owners life that I enjoy seeing them in stores.

But most of the time here I see everyone with a dog taking it shopping, from Home Depot to Costco to the grocery store. Like the "service" dog on the 16' expandable leash taking a leak on the fresh fruit boxes.... (Costco security escorted the screaming lady out-seems they had warned her several times that a companion dog and a guide dog are two different things)

I saw no slap in that video...what I saw was the store manager using his hand to push the phone out of his face and away from the register/ card machine.
Why did she feel the need to videotape it anyway? That alone tells me she was up to no good.

Walmart's ad match guarantee is for competitor pricing not competitor coupons.
This lady was wanting to use competitor coupons at a Walmart. Stores get reimbursed for manufacturer coupons...not their competitor coupons.
So what this lady wanted was basically:
Walmart has product A for $10.00
Comp Store has it for $9.00 plus I have a Comp Store coupon for $2.00 more off.
Ad match would allow her to get it for $9.00 but if she wants to use Comp Store coupon too she needs to go to the Comp Store.

Walmart like all stores is in business to make money - period. Even the little guy, local stores are.

Banned for life from all stores? They'll say it but really can't enforce it. They don't have a banned poster up for employees to see. As long as that manager works at that store, she'll be banned from that store.

And management is part of the security team at Walmart. They have the right per their policy to stop, restrain (lightly) and escort offenders on their property.

It may be a public place but it is private property.

The media loves to jump on stories about Walmart. You all may hate the store but don't forget they are the largest private employer in this country and with the state of our economy right now, we need those jobs...as much as they do suck as an employer. When Sam Walton was alive they were an awesome place to work...things change.

I can tell having read through this entire thread who has worked retail before (especially in a management position) and who has only been a customer. Don't let your hate of the store cloud your judgement. This woman wanted something for nothing, violated the companies policy and when it didn't go her way she turned to the media. She got 75% of you on her side didn't she? Really, what has it gotten her? She's banned from what seems to be her favorite store. And she got on her local news. I think she owes the store manager an apology...it might just get her ban lifted. The store and the store manager owe her nothing.

Oh my gosh. I have heard service dogs in training can make mistakes . I never had either of mine in training pee in a store. I do not allow them to potty with their harness or vest on. But i see some people who allow it. The dogs are not robots so they will sometimes have bad days and good days. But i think most people can tell which are trained vs a pet. I know people use comfort dogs
But not sure what the laws are on those.

I am sure most real working service dogs are not on a 16' foot leash running around the store tripping people either.
