Turned out to be a cockerel ~ thanks to everyone who posted though!

looks like a hen

silkies and (projects), sumatras, lakenvelders, frizzles, polish and (projects), black sexlinks, turkeys, red golden pheasants, Peepers, dogs, cats, fish, horses, wild kids, and one very understanding DH, come on over for a visit to the crazy farm

A very beautiful bird.  I think it is a male.

Looks like a pullet to me too.

My Orpington cockerel started developing wattles at 5 weeks and his comb is much redder.

There's so little to fear from hatching even chickens dare. In fact, it's so easy a turkey can do it.

Looks like a girl to me, but could be a very slow maturing cockerel.  My cockerel was much redder and more wattles by that age.

Breeds: Lavender, Buff, Black and White Orpington & Tufted Rumpless Araucana (lavender, white and nonstandard colors)

smile We had a black orp that developed redness and wattles at 3-4 weeks too.

Muscovys, Brown Chinese Geese,Toulouse, Pekins, Khaki Campbells and rabbits...
