You are correct - this is a roo.  We have had English Lemons for some time now and the coloring is more dominant in the roos than the hens.  The roos do show the barring much better than the hens - but I am told from my contact in the UK that the barring in the hens will show like the roos the longer we work with the breed.  They stated that the barring has really not been perfected in the Engish imports.

i am still leaning towards roo he is looking very nice.both lemon cuckoo's we have are hens the have no comb at all an are around 8 weeks old.

we do orpington's (blue ,black ,lavender ,white ,and buff) peafowl (1 silver pied cock,1 silver pied hen ,1 white hen ,1 indian blue cock) turkeys ( blue slates ) goats (2 alpine dairy femals)

I have 4 beautiful Bronze Turkeys, 16 Rhode Island Red's, 10 Barred Rocks, 6 Delawares, 5 Buff Orpingtons, 4 Black stars, 1 Black Australorp, 3 Partridge Rocks, 1 Silver-Laced Wyandotte, 1 Ameraucana. I have had in the past: Lavendar Guineas, Pearl Guineas, Ducks, Quails. I have owned and have experience with almost all the chicken breeds. Maybe I am the Animal Hoarder in my community! LOL
