Are there any Catalana breeders out there?

George, Catalanas are a very, very rare breed. I hope you can find some good ones.

I have seen some pictures of some nice ones here in the States. Unfortunately I do not know who the owners of them were/are. I am going to ask someone who may know. I have decided that I am going to find some and see what I can do. If you hear of anyone please let me know. I would prefer to stay away from the hatcheries if I can.

I'm pretty interested in this breed as well. Is there anybody out there with some of these guys?

Thank You Mitch. I haven't checked back here in a while. These aren't quite there, but as you know with rare breeds like this; beggars can't be choosy. I was considering Sandhill's. I am not a fan of Ideal's, but . . .

Yep, sadly with a breed as exceedingly rare as Catalanas - The only sources I know of are hatcheries.

I wanted to try and revive this thread, since the OP was almost a year ago. I was wondering of the poster ever bought those Catalanas and how they were? Also, I'm thinking about getting these birds because I'm looking for a low maintenance duel purpose breed. I was wondering if anyone who had these birds used a chicken house with what I would guess was free range and if the Catalanas came into the house every night? I just bought a new house and I'm going to be planting a small orchard of dwarf fruit trees. I'd love to find a flock that'll be self-sustaining and give me a few extra birds each year I can butcher. I should note I live in the very south part of Alabama. We have very hot, wet summers. Humidity is very rarely low and the temps are almost always approaching 100*F. Thanks everyone for their time in reading! This is my first post and I'm very glad to be getting into this great community.
