First, watching a runner duck run is awesome. They can find their own food. They aren't like pekins in water. Mine haven't started laying but I heard their decent.

Its not as fat and slow as a pekin, but its not frail either. I want a mallard but I don't want a flying bird. The rouen is great for that.

They are my calmest birds and are easiest to catch. They eat less than Pekins. I heard they also lay well, but mine are younger.

Anyone breed the french variety in or even near the Bay Area??
I just want 2 pullets(if you can sex them) or 3 or 4 chicks if you can't.
I'm already raising bantams right now and am expecting standard chicks on July 20th.
So if you're a breeder and already set eggs in the incubator to hatch on or around that date, and if you're willing
to sell then PM me PLEASE!!!! I need chicks not month olds. Oh also if you could send me some pics of your hens' eggs (I'd like them to be DARK...not too light) love

Hi All,

I am reducing the size of my Black Copper Marans flocks. I have four breeding pens and a total of 23 hens ranging in age from 1.0 to 2.0 years of age. I am keeping 16 hens for 2012 breeding program. So I have 7 hens for sale. I also have three or four very nice BCM Cockerels. Hens are $60 each and cockerels are $25. Please contact me off post for more information.
