I have 17 5 week old chicks. I want funny names for them. Most of them are mutts. I do have some barred rocks. My favorite is probably a roo that I will not be able to keep. Any suggestions? Sorry, no pics.

you could call your roo stu (*stew*)
(and that is a joke coming from me, i can't eat chicken anymore . . .)

you could pick your favorite silly show and give your chickens those names.

also funny - to put serious titles in front of silly names. i.e. professor puffy pants, general feather-butt, sir clucks a lot, mrs. mcnugget, lady mcbawk and so forth.

you can name them after your friends and family. that cracks me up, personally.

good luck!

Here are my girls names.

General Tso's Chicken (Genny for short)
Private Nugget
Teriyaki (Terri for short)
Little Debbie
Sunshine
Dora

(my kids named the last two)

I named one of mine 'mother clucker'. My son named our light brahmas: Barack o'brahma and dolly brahma. my RIR is just named Red (not very original) our buff orp is mcnugget.
Enjoy the chicks

I did name one of my girls after an aunt!

My daughter often names her things with Sir in front or even Mrister. Her beta fish is named Mr. Sir! Her stuffed Guinea Pig that she has had for a very long time is named Mr. Giggles. You could have Miss Priss, Mrs. Hathorn or Miss Piggy.

Are go with really old names like Bertha, Cora Ann, Maylene, Nellie, Maude, Poppet or put together names like Orangejello (orange-ja-low) for Orange Jello. Some kid is supposed to be named that but it might just be an urban myth. What about naming them after famous woman in history...Betty Ross....can't think of any more! High School has been a long time ago!

Good lunch with the naming.....'Mother Clucker" now that is funny!!!!

My three fave. chicks are called The Dark Lord Sauron(lord of the rings theme music), Odin One-Eye, and King Solomon Cruesoe the 45th.

I was actually avoiding naming mine because our named ones always seemed to die!

But, we have Roo-roo Romeo,
Miss Prissy (yes, named after Miss Prissy),
Janet Reno, (I thought she was a roo until she laid an egg and she still looks very roo-ish!

)
Chip, a RIR that my DD said looked like a butterscotch chip,
A BO names Goldie Hawn,
a white leghorn named - you guessed it - Snow White
another BO named Flufferhead (She's sweet, but she gets lost in her own coop.)

i just named one of my babies "spike"

but someone else has a rooster named "crock pot" and thats the best one i've heard yet.
