What a Comb!!!!
I'm guessing she lays eggs or you would have said she was a roo.
I named my girls after famous female musicians since I teach music. Beverly (Sills) opera singer, Audra McDonald (opera singer), Leontyne (Price) opera singer...Teeny for short, Anna (Magdalena Bach-wife of the famous JS Bach), Clara (Weick Schumann-wife of Robert Schumann) and my roo is....BACH. My husband thinks that is hilarious. I had another one that I thought was a hen that I named Sarah (Brightwell), but Sarah turned out to be a roo when she/he took to crowing. This was about the time Bruce Jenner was going thru his changes, so I changed Sarah's name to... Bruce! We re-homed Bruce because Bach had already established himself as top roo and there was too much chaos in the harem lol. Bruce now has a huge chicken yard and 25 wives, so he is happy lol.
I had a White Sussex named Chicken-Noodle-Soup and I have one right now thats named Muffin
My sister had over 100 chickens. All the RIR hens were called "Mabel." (Named after her childhood RIR hen.) The roos were named "Dinner." She said it made it simple and they all looked alike anyway.
When I got my hens, I didn't plan to get attached to them and called them A, B, C, D, E, F..........you get the picture. It didn't take long before they became Alice, Bella, Carla, Dot, Ellen, and Frieda! Assuming I'll add more to my little flock, the next names picked out are Gracie, Hannah, and Inga. I guess I'll eventually work my way through the alphabet!
The RIRs are all 10 months old, and the other three ladies are about 3 yrs old. Sadly, I lost two of my original flock (Alice & Dot) and started again with my RIRs - Anna & Dory & Frieda just last spring.
Anna - Rhode Island Red
Bella - Black Australorp
Carla - Blue Laced Red Wyandotte (rules the roost)
Dory - Rhode Island Red (yes, there's a slight weirdo in every flock)
Ellen - Delaware
Frieda - Rhode Island Red
