Hey yall, I was out feeding the ducks in my canoe & came right beside this big snake.I did a double take, & grabbed my camera.Do yall know what it is?I believe it is poisonous because of the way it's head is shaped & the way the eyes are on the top of its head.I hope it stays in the water..

Looks like a Brown water snake. I believe that tehy arent poisonous, but I am not sure. I am pretty sure that they are common in your area.

just look it up on Google, looks just like the one in your pic.

Oh yeah, every time I go under a cypress tree always look up.I've heard of snakes falling into boats before.
Now this is a copperhead... thick as fleas around here. When the weather warms up, I'm always watching my step.

Note how the copperhead has the eyes on the side of the head and the water snake has it's eyes situated more on top (as it spends a lot of time with it's head partially submerged)

I know this is off topic a little bit, but that is a really awesome looking snake and a really nice photograph! Very exciting!

And I totally agree- that looks like a water snake, not a copperhead. The eyes, pattern, and skull are all quite different.
