~The Council Of Youngers of BYC! (COY)~

Wow that's fascinating. When I was breeding Buckeyes that was my issue..over breeding the lines. But I've heard line breeding works well.
You bred Buckeyes? o3o
sweeeeet!
There this thing that my dad plans on doing with all our breeds that we'll be offering. I can't remember what it's called, but it's some tri-breeding thing where you switch out unrelated roosters with a flock of hens every year or something like that
spiral breeding I think?
I dunno

anyways
I changed things up a lot for my breeding project o3o
I have absolutely no clue if my Wyandottes are actually mating, because I have never once seen them even really do the mating dance or anything passed that
and my Favaucana doesn't lay much, so I wouldn't be able to get enough eggs to incubate and stuff

so I took out the Wyandotte rooster and put in a Swedish Flower hen rooster with a nice, large tassel
I kept my Favaucana in there
and I put in my White Crested Blue Polish hen and GL Polish hen in
so what I'm going to do is collect eggs from all them and incubate together. When the chicks mature, I'll pick out which cross I like best :p

That's really cool! Yeah I've heard of spiral breeding, and that it is quite complicated. Well good luck with your project!!

I got 2nd in the meat goat heavyweight division and 3rd in showmanship at a recent goat show!

I'm this one ^

@Chickie- Awesomeness. We raise dairy goats, well, we did. We have a few still, but life's phasing them out. :/
