Vamvakas, My latest group hatched on March 7, and I still provide them with a heat lamp at night (they are outside). Last night with the freezing temps I even covered them up with a tarp. These big swings in temperatures can't be easy for them to deal with.

LOL My chicks will all be 4 weeks old this weekend so I plan to move them. I stopped using a heat lamp weeks ago and it's amazing how fast these chicks are growing. They are all almost fully feathered and I've been told they will be just fine. And I'm in Upstate NY!

we dont put our chicks out till 6-8 weeks unless it is summer time where it is 60 at night.it is still 30 at night that is very cold for 4 week olds.

Thanks, Gary
