I'm sure that's fine. The stores I go to never have it so I just get the parakeet stuff from the pet store. How is everything going? I guess they will be going outside in a couple of weeks?

I have some Turkens available.  They were hatched April 3rd, 5th and 20th.  They are red, barred, white, splash and a variety of colours I am not sure what they are.  Three of the reds I hatched from eggs that came from Duane Urch and the rest from Old Orchard Farms.  I am in Weston CT.

if your going out to Monroe for chicken/farm stuff you should check out Benedict Farms. Its a great place, have just about everything at a good price and great service.  We are in New Haven and head out there to get our stuff if that says anything,

My chicks are growing like weeds! I am so attached to them, I wonder why I didn't get chickens sooner!!
When every I open the XXL dog carrier (that is their brooder),they jump up on my arms and settle down. They have been doing this since day one.

I think my cat Toby is jealous. He has not been the center of attention since the chicks arrived. The has made himself captain of the Guard of the chickens.

One think I am getting tired of though.... they keep jumping on top of the mason jat with the food, and pooping.

I finally switched them over to a nipple waterer. They learned really quickly how to get a drink. And I do not
have to constantly keep changing the water because of the wood shavings.

I want to give them treats, but I am nervous. I do not want them to get sick from eating something new. I guess this goes back to my wildlife care of baby squirrels, when they get a new food, they get diarrea.

Oh! the perils of motherhood!!

Don't worry so much. Just know that the chick feed is the best thing for them, but giving them the occasional grape won't hurt them, they'll be thrilled!
