I did, I got many #500 tubes, 4 Excaliburs shell kits, and many more from NH.  Well worth the 2 hour drive.

CT is just to expansive and taxes are a rip off here compared to many other states and you're paying high taxes for peoples pensions while those people enjoy there vacations trip to Florida...

No fireworks here. You are not kidding about the taxes in this state!

I keep praying to win the lottery or something, because working in this state isn't getting me anywhere.

Then I would get a small farm in PA or VA or NC and enjoy my birds without paying for people that have more days off than I work.

I ordered from MPC too, they hatched on a Monday. They also  came from Amish Country in Ohio, and I got the call from the Post Office at 6:00AM Wednesday morning to pick them up. They will be 7 weeks on Monday.

frow.gifHi nic&chickies!

And yes to the PM. I have more than I'm supposed to + a couple of roos I need to rehome.

As far as chickens go I love them and their silly antics, they make great pets.

I also have eggs in the incubator (1 Barnevelder hatched yesterday, 1 was chirpping this morning but never broke through the shell, poor thing). I just cracked another one and egg soup. They were due to hatch Friday/Saturday.

I must have done something wrong.

I hope all the other eggs are OK.

Thanks.

frow.gifHi CTratterriersfrow.gif

Welcome to BYC!!

I had been buying my chicks through a local feed store but then decided on getting hatching eggs because I could not get the breeds I wanted.

I'm also new to the chicken world (June of last year) and have learned quickly to use caution.

Hi, CTratterriers! I'm fairly new here too, and live in Coventry. My sister and I, and several friends, have ordered chicks a few times from McMurray hatchery (just google the name and you'll find their link). We have had no losses. They're very good and will vaccinate if you want.
