Planning on posting up in the classified section too, but thought more local peeps would see it here.

This may sound rude, but is he for free? I also have 35 4 months chicks roosters and hens.  Where I live you have as many roosters and hens you want.  I live North Branford like 15-20 mins from New Haven

Well done. The laws are so inconsistent. Danbury doesn't allow chickens at all and much of it is quite rural. Crazy.

Yes he is for free.  Someone has PMed me about him.  So I will keep you in mind if this falls through.

I posted him in the classified section, so you can take a look at pics of him.  I also threw up a listing on Craigslist, Eastern CT section.

Send me a PM so we dont clutter the thread.

Carolyn,

That is awesome!  I've being wanting to hold a "chicken for beginners" class myself. How long was yours?  How many people came?

I had 26 people. The talk was an hour long but I finished in 45 minutes and then had questions and answers. It was a lot of fun.

Afterwards I found this great pamphlet form an Agway store on "How to build a chicken coop" I wish I brought it with me because I didn't spend much time on the coop part of the talk. Just the basics.

I handed out reference sheets and mentioned this website for beginners. Some folks already had chickens and wanted to learn more.

Wow, that sounds great!  26 people is a good crowd. Confirms what I've been thinking... that a lot of people are getting interested in keeping chickens. Thanks for sharing.
