Like dry clean them then using a spray bottle, just hit them with a light mist to disinfect them?

I use a bowl and mix a solution to wash my eggs. I rinse well after dipping in oxine.

Oh, I thought you weren't supposed to submerge the eggs in water too much. You just make sure the water is warmer than the egg then it isn't so bad?

I dip them in for a second or two, then rinse off. I wash after they are chilled in the fridge. I always wash in warmer water then the egg. Sometimes I eat them myself straight off the nest box.

For my own personal eggs, I wash right before I eat under plain water. They last longer I guess with the bloom. However, we go through eggs so quickly it wouldn't matter if I washed them immediately from the nest box.

My chickens have come down with a "cough" and gooey eyes that they like to rub on their wing feathers so I've been washing with dawn, rinsing well, and blow drying them clean smile.png (they absolutely LOVE the blow dryer!)

Just had a bout of respiratory illness go through my four hens. They are all separated until I see at least a week of no symptoms (plus it is about 10 degrees out right now and for the rest of the week so they don't mind hanging out in the garage for a few more days). I have a DIY coop made from 2x4s and plywood, what is the best way to try to disinfect it, just to be on the safe side for when they return?
