Hatching Party! Wanna Join?! Set 8/7, Hatching 8/27!!

Squee I have chicks "due" this afternoon. I only have 3 viable probably so wish mr luck that something hatches. It's my first time trying to incubate eggs and it's been frustrating! If it goes as I hope I should have 2-3 Mille fleur Cochins by tomorrow this time.

Well done everyone. It's fun reading all the excited posts.
Mine are due today and have been extremely jealous as nothing happening.

Finally now I haver first pop and wobble..... COME ON!!

I am very happy and excited for all of you new parents out there :) This thread has been very fun to watch! I only had one of my eggs make it to lockdown :-( and it is due to do something today...I hope. But just in case nothing comes of it I got 3 baby chicks at the feed store yesterday ( I told my DH that this one would need friends, right?) Congrats to all of you and Good luck!

Anybody ever seen that movie about the pug and the cat, narrated by Dudley Moore?

And Otis's mate is having the puppies, and he runs out of the cave into the snow and does circles and screams "It's a boy! It's a boy!" and then he goes back in, and the female tells him he left too soon, and he runs back out doing circles and saying, "It's a litter! It's a litter!"

I think maybe, in this story, I'm Otis.

I have a baby who has taken her (power of positive thinking) first steps, and two eggs pipped. Woo!~

My last broody continued to sit on 2 unhatched eggs for 2 days after the first chicks hatched. I bet she'll sit another day maybe 2 for you.

Lacey has 2 chicks now! I can only see 1 of the other 3 eggs and don't see any pips in it yet. Come on little guys!!!!

10 out of 16 hatched with 2 more pips in the bator. Problem is...there are foot and toes deformities in 4 of them so far. I believe my egg source has some major inbreeding issues. I will not hatch anymore from this egg source. It's heart breaking to watch the otherwise healthy chicks fail to thrive because they can't reach the food and water. The silkie mixes are so tiny and it's very difficult to put little booties on. A couple of them have some bad angles on their legs so that they keep leaning/falling over to one side. I've placed tape around their tiny little legs like that used for splay leg. Here's hoping.
