Winter Housing for Guineas

Quote:
Your plan sounds good to me.... peas, corn, sweetfeed, whichever is available to you will work (and they may appreciate the extra vitamins the peas provides). Anything that provides a little extra protein, calories and/or carbs can all make heat for cold Guineas. Most Guineas will head for a heat source if given the choice (if they feel they need it), and being that they will be housed in a big open barn, that might be something they'd appreciate. Watch for excessively fluffed, hunkered down birds... that usually indicates cold birds. Check their breast area, if they feel thin in that area then they definitely need a little more fat/calories. I'm sure your birds will be fine
