Best of luck to both of you! I have hatched 5 chicks out of about 7 tries, 3-6 eggs per try. When your there, watching the little things chip chip chip away at the shell, and after hours of stressful waiting and hoping, boom, the egg splits in half and you see a head stuck in one part and the butt stuck in the other. It's an amazing thing to witness and I hope you both get to see the miracle of chick-birth!

When my first chicks hatched I didn't know the they cheeped in the egg -- it was the most exciting surprise ever.

Here's to a successful hatch. ♥

Jenny

They took the girl out of the country -- what were they THINKING?

Mama to 4 pretty pretty Cochin hens -- Louisa, Brigitta, Harriet and Frangelica and Georgianna (now Georgie) who crowed!!!!

When my first chick hatched, I was expecting the cheeping. It still surprised me! I remember running down the stairs screaming at the top of my lungs, IT'S ALIVE!!!!!! (at one point the temp. had reached 110, so I thought I cooked him in the first 3 days) But I thought that he would hatch a day or 2 after. 5 days later, I get a text from my mom saying that the little fuzzubutt hatched 20 mins. after I left for school! I was sooooooooooo happy, but soooooooooooo sorry I missed it!

Dont you find it odd that people will put more work into choosing their mechanic or house contractor than they will into choosing the person who grows their food?
